Plaza de Toros de las Ventas
The Las Ventas bullring in Madrid is the largest bullfighting arena in Spain. With 23,798 spectators, it is the third largest bullring in the world, after those in Mexico and Valencia (Venezuela). It is also the second largest in terms of the diameter of its ring —61.5 m— after that of Round.
It is located at number 237 Calle de Alcalá, in the La Guindalera neighborhood of the Salamanca district. The nearest metro station is Ventas. It can be accessed from the M-30 via the Ventas Bridge. You can visit inside every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., on a tour that includes the interior of the square and the Bullfighting Museum.
In June 2018, the reform works of the square began to improve its safety and comfort, especially in view of the celebration of non-bullfighting shows, which will entail the reduction of its capacity between 200 and 2,500 seats.
